Visit trezor .io/start: Open a web browser and go to trezor .io/start. This is where you'll find the official setup guide and instructions for initializing your Trezor wallet.

Getting Started with Trezor

  1. Unbox Your Trezor Device

    • Inside the box, you should find the Trezor device, a USB cable, a recovery seed card, and a user manual.

  2. Go to the Official Start Page

  3. Choose Your Trezor Model

    • Select the model of your Trezor device (e.g., Trezor One, Trezor Model T).

  4. Install Trezor Bridge

    • Trezor Bridge is a communication tool that allows your browser to interact with your Trezor device.

    • Download and install Trezor Bridge from the instructions provided on the website.

  5. Connect Your Trezor Device

    • Use the USB cable to connect your Trezor device to your computer.

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the setup process.

  6. Install Firmware

    • If your Trezor device does not have firmware installed, you will be prompted to install the latest version.

    • Follow the instructions to install the firmware. This may take a few minutes.

  7. Create a New Wallet

    • After the firmware installation, you will be prompted to create a new wallet.

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your wallet.

  8. Write Down Your Recovery Seed

    • During the wallet creation process, your Trezor device will display a recovery seed consisting of 12, 18, or 24 words.

    • Carefully write down these words on the recovery seed card provided in the box.

    • Store the recovery seed in a secure and offline location. Do not take a photo or save it digitally.

  9. Confirm Your Recovery Seed

    • To ensure you have correctly written down the recovery seed, you will be asked to confirm it by selecting the words in the correct order.

  10. Set a PIN

    • Set a secure PIN for accessing your Trezor device. This PIN will be required every time you connect your device to a computer.

  11. Access Your Trezor Wallet

    • After setting up your PIN, you can access your wallet through the Trezor web interface at Trezor Wallet.

    • You can now start sending, receiving, and managing your cryptocurrencies.

Using Your Trezor Wallet

  1. Adding Accounts

    • In the Trezor Wallet interface, you can add accounts for different cryptocurrencies supported by Trezor.

    • Select the cryptocurrency and follow the instructions to add the account.

  2. Sending and Receiving Funds

    • To receive funds, select the account and click on the "Receive" tab to generate a receiving address.

    • To send funds, select the account and click on the "Send" tab. Enter the recipient's address and the amount, then confirm the transaction on your Trezor device.

  3. Security Best Practices

    • Regularly update your Trezor firmware to the latest version.

    • Always verify the receiving address on your Trezor device screen before confirming a transaction.

    • Keep your recovery seed secure and never share it with anyone.
